EARTH ANGEL'S
MD-36 Lions formed a partnership with Angel Flight West in 2009. We provide ground transportation for those in need . Our clients needs are to get them to and from medical appointments, funerals, or a service man or women coming back from the war to their home town.
Oregon is the only state that Lions have been able to cover the whole state. Our pilots can fly into any airport in Oregon. This has been done because Oregon Lions are willing to give of their time and do what our Lions motto tells us, " We Serve".
Becoming a driver is very easy. You do not need any medical training. You are covered by the LCI insurance plan .All you have to do is call the committee. Give them your name and phone number. They will call you when someone in your area needs transportation. You get a 24 - 48 hour heads up, however there have been a couple of emergencies that required help in just a few hours.

Oregon Forest Resources Institute: Speakers Bureau
We would like the opportunity to speak with your organization in 2011 about Oregon's forests.
* Nearly half of Oregon is covered with forest.
* The forest industry in Oregon is the largest in the nation.
* Even with the economic downturn, Oregon's forest industry still provides more than 47,000 jobs -- paying 8 percent above the state-wide average wage.
Oregon Forest Resources Institute (OFRI) was created by the Oregon State Legislature to improve understanding of Oregon's forest resources and bring current forestry topics (for free!) to civic groups and professional organizations around Oregon. OFRI's Speakers Bureau offers a variety of informative, professional presentations that should interest the members of the Any Lions Club.
Here's our promise. You name the date, time and location - we'll provide a speaker and presentation. (Even as a last minute replacement!) And you get to choose the program! Presentations are offered on a variety of forest related topics.
OFRI's offers a range of presentations - from "Forest Facts" for the forest novice to "Woody Biomass" for an audience more well-versed in the latest forest issues. There are seven presentations from which you can choose (see the attached for further details). You can preview each presentation in more detail at http://www.oregonforests.org/ToursAndEvents/SpeakersBureau.html.
Another option: Any Lions Club can schedule several speakers to improve your "forest savvy". OFRI speakers are available to present a series of lectures at monthly or quarterly intervals - as we are currently doing for the Philomath Rotary.
Please contact Toni Flitcraft at toni@ofri.org or 503-222-0146 to learn more about our program or to schedule a presentation.
